Kelly Stephens Guitar, Keyboards, backing vocals
Kelly Stephens is a veteran guitarist, piano player, and entertainer whose career began at age four and grew into decades of touring, recording, and high-profile performances. By seventeen, he was touring nationally and serving as an understudy for Frank Sinatra guitarist Al Viola, and later became a member of Stoneground and Pablo Cruise. Kelly has performed on the Grand Ole Opry alongside legends including Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, and Garth Brooks, recorded on Sincerely Yours (McCarty & Company) and Back with a Vengeance (Stoneground), and was named California Country Music Awards Piano Player and Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and 1991.
Bryan Cowman, Drums and backing vocals
Bryan, a Santa Cruz native, raised in the South Bay, has been behind the drum kit since age nine. Inspired early on by the big-band power of Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich, he built a style shaped by rock legends including Ringo Starr, Doug Clifford (CCR), and Ritchie Hayward (Little Feat).
For more than a decade, Bryan has been a familiar force in the foothill music scene, performing with bands such as The Menace and Cluster Phunk. Today, he holds down the beat for The Jen and Tonics!!, where his lifelong love of the blues and his energetic groove keep audiences moving and the music rolling.
Jon Joscelyn, Bass
As a bassist of 48 years, Jon first picked up the string bass in his school’s newly formed orchestra, and from there built a lifetime of musical experience across a wide range of projects—from the pits of musical theatre to studio recordings for multiple artists. Fluent in numerous styles, he brings a fresh and thoughtful perspective to our blues. Whether on upright or electric, when Jon lays down a line, the whole house can’t help but sway.
Shaun Ridley, Guitar, BackinG Vocals
Shaun Ridley is a veteran blues and roots guitarist with more than two decades in the Bay Area music scene. A former house guitarist at JJ’s Blues in San Jose, he earned his reputation performing at many of the region’s most respected venues, including The Ivy Room, The Saloon, John Lee Hooker’s Boom Boom Room, Moe’s Alley, Slim’s, The Blue Lamp, Biscuits & Blues, Lou’s Pier 47, Eli’s Mile High Club, and JJ’s Blues.
During his years at JJ’s, Shaun shared stages and learned from legends such as Jimmie Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Anson Funderburgh, Derek O’Brien, and Johnnie “Clyde” Copeland, along with Bay Area greats Tommy Castro and Chris Cain. A disciple of the “less is more” school of guitar, he toured in the early 2000s with saxophonist Frankie Ramos of Little Richard’s band.
From 2018 to 2024, Shaun handled rhythm and lead guitar duties with Norman Collins & The Tumblers, appearing on What the Cat Dragged In and Front Porch Philosopher. Since relocating to the Sierra Nevada Foothills, he has become an active member of the Sacramento blues community, collaborating with The Clint Warner Band, Sacramento Blues Hall of Fame saxophonist Marty Deradoorian, and Jen & Tonics, while performing regularly at The Torch Club and Harlow’s and appearing on the main stage of the Reno Blues Festival in 2025.
